Chennai Citi Center , Mylapore

Hello buddies!!!!

For a long time, I was planning to visit the Chennai Citi Centre. After watching well acclaimed movie - "Kaaka Muttai" , I was curious to explore the venue.

Being a newcomer to Chennai, I had no idea on how to reach Mylapore! After exploring google maps, these two routes were much feasible from my location.

Route 1 (Bus):  Guduvanchery -> Tambaram -> Bus towards Broadway (21G) and  arriving at Kalyani Hospital stop , Mylapore.

Route 2 (Train):  Guduvanchery -> Velachery (MRTS Station) -> Local Train towards Chennai Beach and  arriving at Light House, Mylapore.

Till the last minute I was in a dilemma of choosing between the two routes. Oh!! I forgot to mention- I have also booked a show at INOX!

With the tagline "ithu namma chennai da, enga ponalum , epdi ponalum room ku epdiyachu thirumbi vanthiruvom.." , I chose to go by Route #1 and  arrived at the mall. The appearance of the mall was simply superb and attractive!! Near the entrance, there were ATMs of SBI, IOB and Indusland banks so you could withdraw hot cash to have a cool and exciting experience.

To say about the mall, it's a 4-storey building.

 * Ground Floor - Cosmetics, Apparels & accessories , Women's Ethnic wear, other accessories

 * First Floor -  Lifestyle, gadgets and jewelleries.

 * Second Floor - Adidas, Lifestyle.

 * Third Floor - KFC , Inox Multiplex  , Naya Gadgets , Super Market , Baby Oye (Kid's wear and toys).

 * Fourth Floor (Third-Mezzanine floor) -  Children's Fun City & Food Court (Real Chat, Arabian hut, sizzlers/combo express, Wangs Kitchen , Fruit Punch, Pizza Hut , Mc Donalds)

- and an open terrace where you can enjoy a beautiful view of Marina beach which is not very far.

I crave ice-creams so thought of starting my day with one. On 2nd floor, I found an ice-cream parlour. Though there wasn't a great variety of ice-creams, I totally enjoyed the chocodip that I had! Here is a list of ice-creams and other products they have and a couple of pics where you can see me enjoying my chocodip.

I explored all the floors and it was a great treat to my eyes! ;-)  There were so many stuffs happening around me and I enjoyed looking at families, kids, gift shops, greeting cards, soft toys, dresses, games, eateries and what not! The terrace, on the contrary, was quite peaceful with not so many people. You can find a great view of Marina beach from here. As I stood here, enjoying the breeze, I saw a mosque and Light House Railway station. The view was splendid. Check out some of these pics:

My heart was totally into the majestic view of the coastline, but just then I saw someone eating french fries & Yay!! FRENCH FRIES - My favourite.

((I have never tried French Fries during my college days. It was only after coming to Chennai that I tried French Fries for the first time. And from then onwards, whenever I go outside, my eyes search for french fries <3.  If I don't see French Fries, Pani poori / Masala poori console my taste buds.))  :P

Coming back to present, I went into Mc'D and ordered a combo of burger, Pepsi and French fries (M).  It costs Rs 108 which is quite reasonable to me. I was amazed by their service. In just a minute, they made crispy French Fries! With my burger, Pepsi and French fries, I went to terrace again. :D Below are some snaps taken there ..

Then I came to third floor to find some good shop to buy a cover & tempered glass for my new iPhone <3. It was then that I saw NAYA Gadgets! Though products were costly, I decided to get one. Its big and they have almost all mobile accessories!

Another interesting area in the mall is a Super Market named "ALL IN ONE". There were snacks, beverages, packaged food items, ice-creams & chocolates, household daily-use items, stationery , etc.. But they couldn't afford even a notepad! (Peru than All-In-One :-/ )

A cute and attractive shop named "Babyoye" caught my sight. They had kids' clothes, toys and other baby products. (I didn't enter the shop :P )

Ever heard of "Fish pedicure"??!!?? Hehe.. I tried it for the first time and it was tingling ! :D

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My day out doesn't end without having non-veg. I walked straight into KFC and ordered popcorn chicken with coke. As we all know about KFC, the taste and price are always at peak ! ;)

Like other malls, it did have some games for kids. But as always, kids were having their part of fun. (On contrary Abirami mall has more exciting fun games for kids).

Oh!!! I forgot to mention about food court. I had sev poori and sapotta juice. I even saw some people ordering for second time. Coz it was noon, there was no crowd in food court which let me had a peaceful eating experience...

INOX rocks as always. It's located in 3rd floor and they had 4 screens.

And Guess what????

I went to wrong screening & they didn't even check my tickets properly before allowing me in. I came to realize this after seeing some other person sitting on my seat location. :-P

During interval time, I went for buying some snacks and oh gosh! Their rates were quite high. Then I bought sweet corn for 85 rs. which I used to eat for 10 rs. near my college.

To conclude, the mall has appealing looks with more than enough eateries. I would say it will be very good experience for any newcomer/explorer. Most enjoyable moment in this mall is to have a great view of the coastline from the open terrace while eating some of your favourite items. Also watching a movie @ INOX will be wonderful experience. :)

Thanks for reading. Will be sharing my next exploration by next week.:D
